FLU INFORMATION 2020

The arrangement for flu vaccinations have changed this year to enable COVID -19 restrictions to operate. Find out what the flu arrangements are this year.

Adults only – if it safe for you to do so, Inveresk Medical Practice ask that you wear a face covering when entering the surgery.  Many thanks for your cooperation.

COVID-19 symptoms: if you develop a continuous cough, fever / high temperature or loss of sense of smell, stay at home for 7 days from the day your symptoms started.

If you have these symptoms, but need to speak with a doctor, please call NHS 24 on 111 – this remains the first point of contact for all suspected coronavirus patients.

APPOINTMENTS: currently for the safety of all our patients and staff, we are assessing all patients by telephone initially, and if required, arranging a face to face review.

If you feel your problem is urgent for the same day please speak with reception and ask for a doctor to call you.  To help manage demand we would greatly appreciate if you could phone as early in the day as possible.

If you feel your problem is routine/non urgent, we are offering pre-bookable telephone slots with doctors and nurses.  If your problem can safely be managed in this way, we would appreciate using this option to help us manage demand.

Nursing and blood taking appointments remain available for essential conditions.  Chronic disease management – we are looking at how to start offering more chronic disease management in line with official guidance.  Please check this website for updates.

The building is locked: please only attend the practice if you have been asked to do so.

During this difficult time we would like to thank all of you for being so patient and considerate, while we work to continue providing the highest standard of care.
